The electronic bill of lading is no longer a niche concept. Across carriers, freight forwarders, shippers, banks, insurers, and law firms, awareness is high and adoption is growing. But barriers remain, and understanding them is how the industry moves forward towards eBL transformation objectives.
That is why the FIT Alliance runs its global eBL survey every two years. Building on the 2022 and 2024 editions, the 2026 survey takes a fresh look at where adoption stands, what is driving progress, and what is still holding the industry back. The findings will be published in a report that informs the FIT Alliance's priorities and helps shape the path toward universal eBL adoption.
This year, we want to hear from the full breadth of the trade ecosystem — not just those already using eBLs. Whether you have made the switch, are in the process of doing so, or are facing obstacles that have so far made it difficult, your experience belongs in this data set.
The survey takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous and confidential. No information submitted will be attributed to any individual or organisation.
Who should take part?
Carriers, freight forwarders, shippers, banks, technology providers, insurers, law firms, trade associations, and public authorities: if you are involved in international trade in any capacity and actively using or exploring the usage and potential of electronic bills of lading, your input counts.
